People And Supporters AuthXML is managed by a collective of corporations, individuals and supporters all interested in having a common security framework for Web security, network security, B2B infrastructure and applications. Project Leader
Outlook Technologies, Inc. Outlook Technologies is a leading provider of tools and services for back office infrastructure for Web sites. Outlook's commitment to driving AuthXML stemmed from the frustration of its developers in supplying single sign on and passing login credentials between systems. Outlook continuously encountered different techniques in communicating between the various platforms products and Web sites. AuthXML represents a unified solution that would allow others facing this problem to implement support in compliance with a standard. By proposing a standard that could be incorporated into open source projects and adopted by commercial product vendors, Outlook believes that the standard will receive the strongest support. As the AuthXML Project Leader, Outlook will moderate the community, gather requirments from supporting organizations, contributing members, developers, and reviewers, integrate requirements into the specification, and assist developers in creating reference implmentations of the specification. The release of the specification is guided and moderated by Evan Prodromou a senior software developer at Outlook Technologies. Charter Members AuthXML has gained support from other organizations looking for a common security framework for Web security, network security, B2B infrastructure and applications. Working Groups Four classifications of working groups have been established as a touch point for larger organizations to interface with the AuthXML project. AuthXML is currently encouraging other open source projects and developers to create a reference implementation of AuthXML. |
